I stumbled upon this great Data Viz resource from Severino Ribecca, tweeting at @dataviz_catalog, which catalogues (love the Brit-English spelling nuances, by the way) an extensive and growing list of data visualisation [sic] methods. Severino isn’t just cataloging (catalogueing?) and describing them, though. He provides nice little examples illustrating their use and links to tools that will help you build each visual, wherever they may exist, be it R or D3 packages or dedicated online tools.
This is just another reason why I need to up my visualization game – I want to take advantage of this site. Now to find the right data for a Nightingale Rose chart…
